Sermon Writing Agony

I am convinced, if I could write my sermons in the shower, they would be so much better. A flood of ideas come with the flood of water out of the shower head (okay, flowery preacher prose there, sorry about that).

But, there is an agony in staring at the text and computer, when ideas seem hard pressed to come.

Sermons can be agony not just for the listener, but for the preacher, too!

  2. Shower acoustics are the best too! How many of us could fit in the Pierce master bedroom?

*I'm picturing Missy seated on the other side of the shower door taking dictation. ;-)

  3. Hmmmmm. They make shower raidos. I wonder if they make shower recorders?

  4. I heard someone talk about all the brilliant ideas he used to come up with in the middle of the night but could never remember in the morning. These were inventions that would make him millions. So finally he got a pen and pad by his bed to write down what came to him in the night.

The next morning it was all gibberish that didn't make any sense at all.

Not saying that would be you. Just telling a story.

If what we hear on Sundays is the bad stuff, the shower stuff must be mighty impressive.
